Minergie P building
Thurgauerstrasse 130, 8152 Opfikon
Initial situation
Minergie-P buildings generally consume very little energy. Nevertheless, practice shows that even in such highly optimized properties, there is great untapped potential in operation.
The operation of this property has been optimized over the years to ensure user satisfaction. However, the question of whether operation is both energy-efficient and cost-optimized remains unanswered.
New solution approach
In 2023, Oxoia started the systematic analysis and data-based optimization of energy consumption. Despite over 1000 data points, relevant data, such as room data, was missing. These were supplemented by Oxoia's wireless sensors to obtain a complete picture of actual usage and conditions. Based on this data, intelligent models and the specialist knowledge of the experts from SPIE and Oxoia, the operating parameters are now precisely adjusted and adapted to the actual use of the space. Optimization is continuous and dynamic - in line with comfort and operating times.
Results to date
Significant improvements were achieved after just two years:
- Energy consumption: -21 % or -233 MWh/year
- CO₂ emissions: -22.7 t CO₂eq/year
- Operating costs: -26,000 CHF/year
These results show: Minergie-P buildings also benefit from intelligent operational optimization. The savings were achieved without additional investment in new hardware - purely through the smart use of existing systems and data.
